Once I accepted that nothing would change unless I made a change myself, I came up with a plan. While pursuing a new passion, I realized an important lesson.
One day, not too long ago, I woke up and realized that I was stuck in life. I was not satisfied with my day to day, and I felt like something was missing. As I reflected, I realized that nothing would change unless I took action. So, I did!
When I was a young, I was a risk taker. I grew up in a one-stoplight town in Southern Virginia where it was not always easy to pursue my passions. Still, I never let that stop me. I learned to play piano, joined the school band, and was even the first guy at my school to join the color guard! I didn’t always have enough money or time, and I faced harsh ridicule by my peers. Even so, I was completely focused, and I persevered for the sake of doing the things I loved.
After high school and some college, I pursued a career in dance until I eventually gave it up for a job that seemed safe and stable. After years of playing it safe, though, I eventually realized how far away I had grown from that young risk taker. I knew I needed to do more things that made me happy. I had always been fascinated with real estate, so in 2017, I decided to pursue it as a career. I sold my home and faced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go all in!
This was the best decision I had ever made. Pursuing real estate enabled me to change my life and take control of my time and how I spent it. I found time to dance again and got involved in The Jam CLT – first as a participant and then an instructor. I finished my associate degree while earning my real estate license. I got much more involved within my community and started working with local nonprofits and charities. Meanwhile, I was developing a burning passion for real estate. In my first year, out of the almost 2,000 new local Realtors®, I was awarded the Vane Mingle Rookie of the Year award – a once-in-a-lifetime distinction recognizing not only sales volume and production, but also education, dedication, local association involvement, and community involvement.
I am so fortunate to have an incredible partner, great friends, and a loving family. They have been there for me for all of life’s ups and downs. I know life is not always easy, and I recognize that we all face our own challenges. I do my best not to judge, and I try to give others the grace and space to experience all the good and difficult things in life.
As you can tell, I am ambitious, a bit of a dreamer, and definitely a perfectionist. I have lofty goals, and that means that I often experience growing pains. I’m learning, though, that adversity is just a stepping stone. I have always come through better on the other side. And while I often find it easy to extend grace and patience to others, I am working on giving myself the same understanding.
That young risk taker is still a part of me. Through embracing him and showing myself the same kindness I show others, there are no limits to my success other than my own.
Whenever I am not working, I enjoy dancing, spending time with my dogs, eating out at new and old favorite restaurants, babysitting my niece and nephew, and nights out with my friends. My favorite part of being a Realtor® is seeing the opportunities my clients’ real estate decisions afford them and how their lives change.
During my years in this industry, I have seen several different market shifts. I meet my clients where they are. Once we establish what you hope to achieve through your real estate transaction, I will tailor a plan suited to your needs. I will guide you through each step while prioritizing clear communication.
As The Dancing Realtor®, I will make this process fun! Though I am extremely dedicated, honest, and compassionate, I am also easygoing. If you are looking for a Realtor® in a suit and tie, then I’m probably not your guy. With me by your side, we will establish goals, knock them out, and have a good time along the way.
As a leader in this industry, I am actively working toward positive change in our community, particularly related to increasing minority homeownership. I also work in the community, helping the people and organizations when and where I can. I have extensive experience in residential, investment and new construction real estate. Once the transaction is closed, I will keep dancing as your lifelong Realtor®.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Yeatts
